University of Akron - O. Davis Taliaferro Memorial Post Clock

This project was of an overall master plan from the University t create more exterior gathering places and focal points on the Akron campus.

The concept of the project was to create a pedestrian plaza at the previous intersection of Carroll and Union Street. The focal point of this plaza was a free standing clock on as masonry base. The clock was placed at the center lines of both streets with a clock face in line with each street approach. A seventy five foot diameter plaza was created around the clock tower with four pedestrian access paths entering the plaza.
